Finding a care home for someone you love can be emotional and daunting. Things change quickly and it can be difficult to know what the right solution is. I have recently bought The Old Vicarage in Moulsford and I am determined to help make this process better.
The Old Vicarage is located in a pretty, rural village in Oxfordshire, very close to the River Thames. It has a long history of providing exceptional residential and dementia care. Many of our wonderful team have been part of life at The Old Vicarage for over 15 years – the compassion, dedication, and expertise shown by every member of the team in caring for our residents is deeply moving and truly humbling.
It is this amazing foundation that I am building on, by investing in a number of important areas. In addition to a full redecoration of the home, we are adding to all aspects of life at The Old Vicarage
We have a fantastic new chef and specialist nutritionist providing nourishing and delicious food and an incredible new activities leader who brings energy and joy to each day. Residents are thrilled about our brilliant new trikes for outings around the garden or to nearby spots such as The Beetle & Wedge restaurant on the river. We also now have a very smart new wheelchair accessible minibus for local excursions and trips further afield.
We have increased the ratio of carers to residents so that everyone receives more time, attention, and truly personalised support. We have welcomed a personal exercise specialist to help residents stay active and maintain their wellbeing, expanded our activity resources to create more meaningful and enjoyable experiences, and introduced a dedicated dementia coordinator to provide compassionate, specialised, and individualised support for those living with dementia, ensuring they feel understood, valued, and safe.
Elderly care should feel like a continuation of life, identity, rhythm and joy – not a compromise. Families should feel proud that they have chosen our home and deeply reassured that this is exactly where their loved one belongs.
Please call me on 07734 527673 or email cvl@hanninghomes.com to find out more or arrange to come and visit. I am here to talk things through with you.

Dear all,
I just wanted to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in the care of my mum, Toun.
I will never forget, and will always cherish, and be thankful for, the level of care, compassion and love that was afforded her. Penny and I often talked about how lucky mum was, and we were, for It.
It gave us great comfort and peace. Words are inadequate to convey how deeply grateful we are.
To all the staff in The Old Vicarage,
With grateful thanks for all your care, and friendship.
And with best wishes for Christmas, and New Year’s
From P.
